Mike Tyson To Be Face Of Upcoming Las Vegas Airline, L.V. Air

There were rumors that Mike Tyson would be the spokesperson for a new Las Vegas airline in recent weeks, but he made it very clear that he was involved during a recent sitdown with CNN’s Larry King.

“Have you got something to do with an airline,” King asked Tyson during the interview, to which he replied: “Yes, L.V. Airlines.”

Tyson continued, explaining that he will serve as the airline company’s spokeperson, and said that he’s also an investor.

“Las Vegas is in an economical crisis and everything. And we’re working so hard just to give back to the community, since I’m in a big community, in Las Vegas for 24 years,” the former heavyweight boxing champ explained.

“This is an ultra luxury airline. It’s pretty much taken the place — American planes have taken the place of like the Concorde, so to speak, you know? It flies from all over the country to Las Vegas. Yes.”

On its official website, FlyLVAirNow.com, the company confirms Tyson as the airline’s spokesperson, saying: “As announced on Larry King, Mike Tyson will become the face of LV Air and bring this amazing new carrier into the limelight of local, national and international aviation.”

It boasts a 24-hour concierge, complimentary transportation, “direct to room” baggage service, and hotel “flight check in” service at participating hotel partners, so “you never stand in line at the airport,” the website reads. It doesn’t seem to be booking flights just yet, but the company says commercials will be running next year, which Tyson is sure to appear in.

L.V. Air will fly only into Las Vegas from around the country.

Vegas Confidential reports that Eneliko Smith is behind the deal for the company, but says he has a “sketchy financial history,” including the demise of a hotel chain called The Block, which closed in 2008.

At press time, further details regarding Tyson’s partnership for L.V. Air was unknown.
